Country Carna | August

Come along for a Toe Tapping Time at Lismore Workers Club this Sunday as Country Carna presents some of Australia’s best country music artists.

FEATURING

Shelly Jones Band
Popular husband and wife duo, the Shelly Jones Band (Shelly and Lester) are two accomplished singer-songwriters, well known for delivering strong vocal harmonies and great musicianship, along with their signature dose of humour in their live shows. Their unique style blends upbeat Country, Country Rock, Rockabilly and 50s 60s with some Classics and Originals thrown in for some added spice.

Roland Storm
Roland was born in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. He has proved to be a firm favourite in no less than 25 countries around the world, with a career spanning from the sixties through the millennium and a repertoire of songs in the hundreds. Roland has enjoyed great success with an extensive recording catalogue, including a Gold Record for his biggest hit “Rolling with the flow”.

Watling and Bates
WATLING & BATES live in Unumgar in the Northern Rivers of NSW, where the mists hang low over rugged mountains and livestock graze upon green fields once covered by the Big Scrub.

United by a love for gothic mountain music, Watling & Bates reach back to the old time storytellers, presenting songs of death and pain, love and hope, marriage and murder. On a typical evening you will find them in front of an open fire, picking on the banjo, strumming on a guitar, and sawing on a fiddle.

Inspired by the eerie howls of local dingos, black panthers or yowies, the softness of horses’ noses, and the primeval strutting and clucking of chickens, their original tunes draw on the old time traditions of mountain folk.
